6th International Conference on Soft Computing Models in Industrial and Environmental Applications

6-8th April, 2011

Download CFP

Soft computing represents a collection or set of computational techniques in machine learning, computer science and some engineering disciplines, which investigate, simulate and analyze very complex issues and phenomena. This workshop is mainly focused on its industrial applications.

SOCO 2011 provides interesting opportunities to present and discuss the latest theoretical advances and real world applications in this multidisciplinary research field.

SOCO 2011 will be held in the beautiful and historic city of Salamanca, Spain. With exceptional opportunities for sightseeing and gastronomy, Salamanca is a wonderful venue for a great conference.

The SOCO'11 proceedings will be published by Springer in the prestigious Advances in Intelligent and Soft Computing Series.

Authors are invited to submit manuscripts written in English. All submissions will be refereed by experts in the field based on originality, significance, quality and clarity. All contributions must be original, should not have been published elsewhere and should not be intended to be published elsewhere during the review period. Accepted papers will be included in SOCO 2011 Proceedings that will published by Springer Verlag.
Papers should not exceed 10 pages and must comply with the format of AISC Series (see Instructions for Authors at Springer Website - Word Template).

NOTICE: All papers for SOCO 2011 must be initially submitted in electronic form (PDF format) using the online submission system.

Papers should be written in English.

Papers must be prepared according to Springer‚s templates (MS Word or LaTeX format) for the Advances in Intelligent and Soft Computing volume series (

All accepted papers will be published in a special volume of Advances in Intelligent and Soft Computing (Springer), indexed by ISI Proceedings, DBLP and Springerlink, among others.

For each paper, at least one author is required to register and attend the workshop to present the paper, so as to have it included in the conference proceedings.

In order to submit a paper, authors must register at SOCO 2011 conference management system (more info coming soon!!!). All papers must be submitted in electronic format (PDF format, word document or latex and images).

  • Paper submission deadline 25th November, 2010
  • Acceptance notification 16th December, 2010
  • Final version submission 13th January, 2011
  • Conference dates 6th - 8th April, 2011

Researchers who would like to organise a Special Session on topics falling within the scope of the Conference are invited to submit a proposal for consideration. This should include:

  1. Decide on the title and content of your session.
  2. Publicise your session.
  3. Obtain at least five papers from workers in the area.
  4. Find two suitably qualified reviewers for the each of the papers.
  5. Manage the review process of the papers.
  6. Ensure the editable wordprocessor versions of the papers are uploaded by the proper deadline.

If you agree to accept this invitation we would be grateful if you could supply the following information by 10th of October,2010:
